View Full Version : WTF vs Victoria Police

09.30 and Mr Farkles are I leave the Servo in Upwey to head to Gembrook then along the Launching Place Road to meet the others at 10.30.

09.50 Stop in Gembrook so I can put some winter gloves on. Fifty metre visibility fog and temps around 2 or 3 degrees C don't go with Summer gloves even with heated grips.

10.10 arrive at the Launching Place Hotel car park.

Todays farkle award goes to....(drumroll) .... Smacastrom for his Eagle Screen and Madstad set up.

After the usual chat it's off via a Glitch special route to the Reefton Spur.

As we rode up the Spur the evidence of Wednesday's snow storm became more apparent. Of course we had to stop at the top.

It's a great State Government we have here. They spend our money errecting signs to tell us how much of our money they are spending to protect us from ourselves.

Some people were too busy taking photos to ride with the group. :D

We are going that way guys (in case you can't read the sign our leaders are spending $77,00 to protect us on this stretch of road).

So we head past the queues of people trying to get into the ski resort and I get past the 4WD that was holding me up (really! - what a tosser I think he got his licence as second prize in a chook raffle) and I come around a corner to see Glitch and Mr Farkles communicating with a fellow biker who his carrying a Smith and Wesson and who has these blue and red flashing lights on his BMW. I figure I ain't stopping here fellas - solidarity only goes so far and besides Mr Farkles was probably only making him an offer for the pretty lights anyway.

I wait down the road (the others are long gone their idea of solidarity is worse than mine).

I starting to get a bit bored by this stage as you can see.

Then from up the road I hear...the noise and what should appear but...

From there it was continue down to Marysville, laugh at the silly pseudo skiers, catch the others who were waiting, on to Naybethong and Rays for some food and over the Black Spur to Healesville. Some of us proceeded back up the Myers Creek Road and through to Whittlesea for more coffee then home via various routes.

Overall this was an almost perfect ride. It makes you wonder why people live in other parts of the world.

Glitch can now explain the full Police story. :D :D

"Excuse me rider, are you the rider of this bike"

"but, officer I am fully clothed"

"not you rider, but the public must be protected from that hidious thing you are riding... WTF is it?!?"

Can he, now??....
You bloody rubbernecks've gotta wait till tonight. :P :P
There's someone else who's waiting to extract something from me ....

Nearly sold the WTF to the cop yesterday

Came down Lake Mtn towards Marysville, just about out of the snow-zone and a cop comes up as we're tiptoeing through some ugly-looking bends (no idea if it's ice or water). Watching the mirrors, saw him doing a U-turn and coming after us, as I was looking for a spot to pull up to wait for the rest of the group.

Just a licence and "tech" check...
"what's that?" pointing at the WTF
I point out the sticker...
"Saw that, what is it?"
...and things went from there, he's rebuilding an old RZ250 stroker track-bike with RGV250 bits.
YabbaYabba, the rest of the group goes past, shitscared they might be getting tangled up in this :D :D
"I'm handing out canaries right/left/centre for all sorts of crap and non-ADR bling...but I've never come across something like that. That's the most heavily modded bike I've seen... looks factory, too...and everything's on the money...nice job, enjoy the ride!"

Bummer....just as I was about to ask him is I could borrow those pretty red/blue lights ("need modding, all LED conversion, off'cer...").

There ya go....no tickets , no warnings....just damn close to a sale of the WTF  :P
Let's see if I can get him next time we meet eachother.....when he pulls us up on the WTF650's  :chug:  8)

First cop I've ever come across who really knew something about bikes...hat off to that one !!! And a nice guy to boot !

Mad biker is also a mad copper....

speaking of police.
I wish I had a video camera last night, i was around at one of Sasha's friends place whose husband is a cop, he came home with his partner on their dinner break and there they were, sitting in full kit, gun etc with the 14 month old sitting on one of their laps both of them singing nursery rimes.... funniest site I have ever seem, but hey, they are human too...well some of them :P

Personally, I've only met one copper I'd call "obnoxious", and then he was fairly polite, he just took to the job of indiscriminate revenue raising a little too.. ummm.. enthusiastically.

I copped it sweet cos I was in the wrong, but it was a first and only offense, deserted 4 lane road, interstate rider... but no, no slack at all. <shrug> (not that he was obliged to apply any discretion, but sheez, one offense in 30+ years on the road :? )

It's a hero's job, handled by mortals, they got my support, absolutely

Mad biker is also a mad copper....

Didn't know... For all I know, it could've been him, then :D
Just refreshing to see that there was someone who's got a genuine interest, fiddles around with bikes/ on bikes himself.
Somehow there was instant, mutual respect and things tend to never go wrong from there.
