<-- now went that way
after working way to hard for the year with 3 months of nightshift, I actually had a 3 days off and a massive desire to ride..

So I did..

the plan was to go and see Embery's Lookout that overlooks Corryong. I missed it last 2 times I was up that way and really wanted to see it.

Day 1 was Melbourne to Omeo with as much dirt thrown in.

lets go.

Day 1

about 530km and 7:30hrs in the saddle

rode up through Gembrook and up via the power lines to Jinidvick,
somewhere between Jindivick and Willow Grove was this old Bridge, it was fenced off, so I climbed over the fenced and walked over it...in your face authority!!

landed in Walhalla for a quick photo, worth a visit if you havent

then over Binns Rd, it has 2 routes, follow the road which twists either side of the ridge or follow the dual track with just goes up and down the ridge, fun for the whole family

every 1km or so was these signs, I am guessing that Binns Rd was the main road between Walhalla and the East during the gold rush and there was a lot of buildings and history along there

Ta...and looking at the eastern section of things:
For a nicer run from Glenmaggie to Newry, shoot north on the Weir Rd. then east just after the McAllister River bridge onto the Upper Maffra Rd. followed by another tack north onto Horstman-come-Three Chain Rd.

Lesser roads, narrower (some single-lane), no traffic at all...all sealed.

Another one I've been looking at for years is Insolvent Track, running east and sorta parallel to Freestone Creek.
No idea if that's ok for the "Big Pigs" or Thumper-stuff only.

How was Mt. Thompson?

Can't wait for the yarn of Jones Rd./ Baldhead etc. into Brookville/ Swifts Creek. Looks like it leads along some ridges, going by the pattern of creeks on the map.

This is good stuff!! :bow::clap:

and then.....

Freestone Creek Rd, it one of my mainstays. I enjoy it even though if was the road that claimed the might Strom

it was in great condition, very light on the mud and no dust, hardly any pot holes either

then I came around a corning and the colour of the water almost knocked my off the back of the bike, it was so clean but at the same time glowing green
