2016....Longwood Lunches + Flats

Early April and a grey morning turned into a sunny afternoon.

Some new roads, some old revisited... lots of laughs, plenty of gravel, Strathbogie-Boulders, a flat tyre, more laughs, a pub-lunch under the gumtrees
and some choice scenery and riding through the Switzerland Ranges.

Cracker-day!!

2016...OpenRoaders run to Erica

SF blew the whistle ...and they all came.
Black clouds and sunshine for a nippy run through the backblocks, an SV going bum-up on some Gippsland gravel, Brad attempting to trade the Husky for a Hogly :bt....
Whoohoo, great day out with a bunch of good folks. :chug:

All the goss here!!

2016...Autumn-Pizza

A slow and quiet solo-bimble through Melbourne's eastern backroads... the camera doing more work than the bike.

Colours and textures of the nooks + crannies, tucked away scenic spots and lookouts.

June '16...2-wheels on French Island

Early June...and a dreary-looking morning turned into a cracker of a day.
Discovering a little of French Island, cousin and next-door-neighbour to the famous Philip Island.
The only tourist traffic allowed is of the 2-wheeled variety....and treadlies at that!

Mid-July 2016...Frosty Frolic, Tungamah weekend

He called...and they came!
Tim SF and the OpenRoaders extended the invitation and off to Tungamah we went. Yeah, go and look it up, I had to, too :bs
Victorian mid-winter at its best...blue skies and bone-creaking mornings.

2016_New England + Colorado

NOT a bike-trip this time,

but a snoop around the far north-eastern US, following the Appalachian Trail from the New York State border to its origin near the Canadian border.
A short loop through Quebec, followed by the Maine coast and a few days in the Rockies/ Colorado on the home-leg back to Oz.
It had all started with a travel-yarn in a German bike-mag in the late '70s.

Split into various threads, here are the links to all the parts, in their chronological order --->

From a failed attempt at "The Golden Road" to a fantastic day around Mt. Kathadin (the northern end of the Appalachian Trail), a truly stumping morning at the Acadia National Park and this whole sorry/ soggy lobster business........and a glorious 40min sunset :drool:

2016_late November, Melbourne Bike Show

Not much new at this year's Melbourne Bike Show....apart from a marked shift of exhibitors towards the DualSport and ADV scene.
From bikes of all sizes to accessories and tour operators, the ADV-market is decidedly booming!

2016_Another Night At The BullAnt

Early December...and once more the call came: Bruthen or Nothing!
Which means another pilgrimage to sink a few foamies at the BullAnt brewery.

Sure!! A weekend on Gippsland's backroads is always a good idea.

All them backroads and twisties are bloody hard work, too.
