All that's missing is a whip :)

Great shots of some awesome (and tucked-away) places.
Following this on a map, there's plenty of zig+zag.

Love that restaurant with the stage at Bad Saarow....classy!

Here's the abbey Chorin when we left the next morning.

Cobblestones you find everywhere, but that is no problem for the suspension of a KTM.

Then we came to the little pigeon tower. Pete was asking how does it look in the inside? Here you are!

These trees with a dancefloor in their crown are called "Dance Linden" or Tanzlinde in German. In some regions you still find them.

Mission accomplished!
A dream came true.

Two Austrians in a Strandkorb on the beach of Heringsdorf on the isle of Usedom!

We did it.

There is nothing more to say.

You can rent these Beach chairs.

DiySKYV.jpg

We toasted on our journey :chug:
0NiNymO.jpg

........and talked to the entrepreneur. He said it is hard work to be on the beach in summer and rent beach chairs. And don't forget the hard winter work when you are in your shag and repair the chairs.

Yes mate, life can be a drag!:killingme

As I said we were in Heringsdorf again. We stayed the night in this nice Hotel Fortuna. If you ever come to this place try to stay in this family run hotel.

Next mornig we turned South. But there was something we had to look at.

On the last run I stood with R. at the destroyed railwaybridge between the mainland and Usedom. Looking from the mainland.

This time we wanted to see it from the island.

This is it in former times.

There are some folks who want to see a railway running again on the old tracks. For sure a technical burner for this touristic place. But money is tight. The black and white line is served by a touristic train the red/white is a dream!:wow:

The last stop on the way south was the old ship lift (Schiffshebewerk) of Niederfinow. A masterpiece of engineering finished 1934.:photo:
Here in Niederfinow the Oder-Havel-Canal coming from Berlin wants to meet the river Oder. But the surrounding land is 36 meters higher than the Oder river bed. So the engineers build a lift.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Niederfinow_Boat_Lift

Ships are becoming bigger, so they are building a new lift right now. This is the map. It is just 22 km east of Motorway A11.

Can't wait for September to have a first-hand look at some of those (and hopefully many others).
Beautiful stuff!!

2 Austrians to the Baltic Shores via the backroads....DELIVERED!
Well done!:so

Looking at all the sunshine, blue skies , T-shirts and all....what time of year were those trips? (especially the last one).

How long did it take? (one-way....4-5 days? More, less?)
Just trying to get some measure of the whole thing, something for the planning stages.

Heringsdorf and The Fortuna are marked on the maps (together with a few others of your recommendations).

Thanks for all those fantastic pics and an entertaining yarn on top!
