Another 1.Sunday in May, another Bayles.
And true to tradition...it's gotta be wet!

Some greasy, sloppy backroad near Koo Wee Rup

Bayles_01.JPG

Bayles_02.JPG

Some feel as flat as the surrounding countryside and keep the final solution handy

Bayles_03.JPG

This one's beaming....Sunbeaming!

Bayles_04.JPG

Bayles_05.JPG

And if it ain't old and original and still pulling its weight.... it's custom, flash, beautifully crafted and most likely a hothpotch of a dozen bikes + bits.

Bayles_06.JPG

I couldn't figure out this one! Just check that splitter-block for the front brake cables feeding a set of brake-shoes each at the front hub. :glu
It's a watercooled stroker....with a Springer front-end and adjustable rake?...and points ignition!...and an auto-oil-feed coming out of that rear tank?
No idea if this is "original", but it sure looks old and been plodding along since Noah built the Arc.

A regular visitor at Bayles, the Norvin (Norton frame/ Vincent engine)

Shine on Me!!

Bayles_12.JPG

Hmmmm... the "Lightning Special" looks a bit like a Russian Cartoon-Rocket from the '60s....lots of shiny bits and NOIZE!! though...

I think you might be looking at the flying squirrel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Flying_Squirrel

Beautiful nine there

I think you found it.
That looks pretty close!

And yes....that Z9 was MINT! :drool::drool:

Another shot....

Bayles_13.JPG

...and back to that "Lightning Special" Beeza.

Bayles_15.JPG

Bayles_16.JPG

Bayles_17.JPG

Shows why they HAD to come up with disc-brakes....any bigger and there wouldn't have been enough space to squeeze a spoke in between.

Bayles_18.JPG

Then as now....BM-designers should be clobbered with a cricket bat until al-dente.... then sold to Ural.
Talk about fugly

Bayles_19.JPG

Little Sweetheart

Bayles_20.JPG

Bayles_21.JPG

A superb, old Indian pulls up...

Bayles_22.JPG

Spot the only blemish...

Bayles_23.JPG

I heard of hard-tails...but this is brutal!

Bayles_24.JPG

I was taken by the single's. If it was a Yamaha... it caught my eye.

Analogue gauges.... anyone know how to read em?

And a super heavenly perspex inspection port...

It was mine...

P1080250-X2.jpg

Simple, small, classic, but not British. Still old enough to hold it's head high amongst the other bikes on display. :glu

And there's that same 754 again from a few years ago....

Bayles_26.JPG

Bayles_27.JPG

Another Sweetheart....still clocking a nice, steady 90 kmh on its way home later in the day.

The singles kept catching my eye...

This one came through the road works at Koo Wee Rup.

P1080272-X2.jpg

And this one didn't

P1080277-X2.jpg

I had a seat on my pushbike that sparkled like this handgrip.
That was in 1970.

But wait, there's more.
Need a lower gear?
Just hoist it up, rip out that rear wheel. Spin it around and remount. Hey presto, you can now chug up that 6 deg incline...

P1080273-X2.jpg

Ugghhh, it's not a single...but it sure had my attention.

These RG500's will pass anything except a gas station.

Am I really a single fan? Yes/no/yes....maybe not? Oh shucks... I was in a temporary state of motorcycle lust....
W-)

P1080278-X2.jpg

See I was snapping twins like there was no tomorrow.... Yes, I kinda liked this one too. I mean just cruisin... It's an old Beauty eh!

P1080282-X2.jpg

Hey paleface... Yes there were some old Indians there too!

P1080280-X2.jpg

I'm not sure if Trophy, Sport and MZ all belong on the same page, The Iron curtain's finest...

P1080258-X2.jpg

I wondered how this worked..???

P1080260-X2.jpg

And as we left I spied this, snapping me back into Single heaven.... Bayles, you rocked!
