I was trying to get photos uploaded to a google map from my last report but google wasn't playing nice. It's a real bonus to be able to get them geolocated on the map. I did a similar thing about 10 years ago with a big trip we did in Qld and loaded the pics in google earth but it was very time consuming

You can use a tool call GPicSync (free) to sync your photos to a GPS log.
Although if you sometimes forget to turn the GPS logger on, then you can end up with photos out of whack.. a small number of mine are like that.

Cameras are starting to come with GPS built-in now, though, so I guess it won't be a problem in the future.
