Last night's episode had Wayne Newton as special guest star - singing in the Silver Dollar Saloon (in C Street).

Back to B Street, a few more pics.

The Miners Union Hall (in the background), two other shops in the foreground,

An old Chevy Pick-up (from a different era), outside the Court House.

C Street, the many of the buildings (according to the local literature) date back to the 1860's. Most are hotels / pubs / saloons.

The Bucket of Blood (charming!).

Home yesterday arvo, safe 'n' sound, looked after by AirNZ, not the dodgy QANTAS flight.

BTW, Helen and I took advantage of an AirNZ offer for the Sky Lounge - three seats with fold-up foot rests for only $75 each, each way on the Auckland - LA / LA - Auckland legs of the flight. This gave us much more leg-room, room to wriggle in and relax without elbowing each other or other passengers. Even managed a couple of lie downs and good sleeps. Worthwhile considering as an option for future trips.

Bit easier to access pics, links, etc... on the laptop, so her's some more pics, re-starting on C Street.

Near the museum (worth a visit).

On display at the museum.

I don't think the wheel camber is to aid cornering though.

Turnaround, the Bucket of Blood Saloon to the left.

The prices would even attract John & Johnny's attention.

Genuine timber board walks.

Walking up the street.

Big Wheel.

Bigger Wheels

More to come, the streets go as far as O Street .......

From Wiki - the Fourth Ward School is an historic 4 story mansard-roofed former public school building located at 537 South "C" Street. Designed in 1876 by architect C. M. Bennett in the Second Empire style of architecture, it originally held over 1000 students. The above view is from D Street.

The Catholic Church.

Boot Hill

We didn't take anymore pics in streets E through to O, that can wait until the next visit.
