Broadford Bike Bonanza 2017 photos

That plum and chrome Ducati in Doug's set is nice, anyone know what model it is ?

This one?
Its a 200cc "Elite". They ran from the late 50's to the mid 60's and were effectively Ducati's top of the line street bike. According to my Ducati history book they had 18hp and would do 130kph!

I'm a sucker for cheap-arse bling...even if it's some GladWrap-screen, a tub full of BIIIG washers and a airtravel-neck cushion for an Airhawk.
Oops....AND a H4 headlight conversion, of course. :)

Broady_00.JPG

....and all original (apart from the header and 4into1, I think?)

More Vincent "Van-tastic"! :glu

Broady_24.JPG

Looks like a little '70s Honda with the pressed steel swingarm and all, K1W1 reckons it was a Yammie...the sticker insists it's a Bridgestone 90....and it's MINT :lao

Broady_25.JPG

More '70s memories...
.... of an RV90, a Sunday ride to a Speedway event, busted bones + 6 weeks of plastercasts, ops, hospitals and that smell of formalin

Broady_26.JPG

If you got it...flaunt it!!

Give 'em a 250 dirtbike frame and frankenstein a TZ750 4pot into it,
then call it the ultimate Flattracker...:eek:

I'd call it a Flatliner!

Broady_27.JPG

Not quite a touring-rig...but yumyumm!:chug:

Broady_30.JPG

...and characters galore!!

Broady_31.JPG

Broady_32.JPG

"oiii....we've got a flat!!"

Broady_33.JPG

"...you wave that bloody red flag at me again and that's the last thing you'll do this weekend, capisce?"

Broady_34.JPG

I 'wus wrong. Bridgestone motorcycles were actually independent and part of the Bridgestone tyre company. I was thinking that they were Yamahas rebadged for the US market as many small two strokes were in those days (Montgomery Ward used to sell small Benellis as the "Riverside" brand and Sears Roebuck sold Puchs and Gileras under their own brand as well.

The emblem on the tank seems to corroborate that BS.
PS a search for Bridgestone Motorcycles unearths lots of photos of similar BridgeStone motorcycles. Wikipedia says... "After World War II Bridgestone started manufacturing motorcycles, but its main income was from supplying tires to its rival motorcycle makers such as Honda, Suzuki and Yamaha and it was later decided to cease motorcycle manufacturing."
