We headed up to Echuca for the long weekend. The police announced a blitz on bikes over the long weekend so the challenge was set. Hit as few main roads as possible. Saturday morning we went up through Kinglake, Break'o'day road and junction hill, then morning tea at Yea. From there through Highlands, over the hills to Euroa, Plenty of long flat straight roads between there and Echuca, but I tried to mix it up a bit.
Saturday arvo we checked out the National Holden Museum. Some great old cars, some restored, some original,
I reckon the 350ci HT Monaro is about the nicest looking car ever built.
The Irish pub in town had about 90 different parmas on the menu. This was the mixed grill parma.
Sunday morning we went for a cruise on a paddle steamer
Afterwards we went for a ride to Barham for lunch. To get there we rode along the NSW side of the Murray. Found this wonderful sculpture on an old windmill
Quite a large solar farm in Barham. This was about half of the PV array.
Home via the Victorian side of the Murray, taking a few backroads between the Hwy and the river.
Walked into Moama where we found a Bills trough. Here ya go Crusty
Monday home via more backroads. Stopped at Strath Creek general store for lunch. They were all out of Irish sausage rolls, but the beef stroganoff pies were excellent.
