The lake only refilled a few years ago, and it went from almost bone dry to full in the space of one very wet season from memory. For many years during the 2000s there was no water at all under the bridges at Bonnie Doon, and the lake bed was full of motocross and 4WD tracks.

When we went past there on the weekend, you can see how quickly it is currently draining by the damp ring around the water line. The water is receding faster than the bank can dry out.

Tru tru.

It's currently at 40% capacity. They have clearly been managing the water storages down the hill as the next storage is at 98%.
