If you zoom in on the link https://goo.gl/photos/eZo4e36tgdVYguH5A (hope it works), the keen eye may notice to old road formation and remnants of it in the centre right of the pic, beyond the leaning tree. The Navman showed the old road as an option for reaching this vantage point, I'm not sure if the Hyundai Sonata would have been capable.
