Default Advice from Rookie Oz tourer

Hi, looking for general advice on the most spectacular rides I could do on a 4 day circular trip from Sydney, riding approx 5-6 hours a day. I was thinking about this route (if you can view it?). If not, was thinking of riding South along the coast through Woolongong to Batemans Bay, then North inland to Jenolan via Goulburn, then continuing up to Singleton. Then return South to Sydney.

Anyone got any alternative suggestions of roads I must ride?

Any advice would help.

Dan

G'day, and welcome!

Your link / pic hasn't shown up, you might not have enough posts yet.

Definitely head down the coast over the Sea Cliff Bridge just North of Woolongong. There's a road through the National Park that sounds nice but you don't get any views of the coast until you pop out at Otford, but at least you're not slabbing on the highway. Kiama is quite nice too. If you head inland from Albion Park there is a road up the escarpment to Robertson called Macquarie Pass that would be good on a bike, I've only done anything in that area in a car. Maybe head up that then down Mossvale Road. I'd try and avoid the M31 on your way back North if at all possible.
Others with actual knowledge of a good route will be able to chime in, I'm sure.

When will you be visiting?

No pic/ grafix here either (and no minimum posts needed here).

And while at it...sealed + unsealed roads ok?
Oh...and G'day and welcome :-)

For the northern part on the sealed road I would suggest the Bylong Valley Road from Rylstone though to Denman. It's a magic road with very little traffic and some great scenery.

Don't listen to any NSW riders who suggest the Putty Road. It's crap and NSW riders only suggest it because they know no better.

Bylong Valley is a good ride, as is the Golden Highway (great bakery in Merriwa) and a few others in the area.

The Putty Road can be busy, heavily policed (on weekends) and despite the 80km/h speed limit, is still a road worth riding - if you haven't before.
