Gee those tyres would make it an interesting day on sand. About 10 on the exhaustion scale I would think but what a great day.

Yeah, asked him to show me my speed, 58kph just as my GPS was telling me. It is not uncommon at all to be speed, breath, licence & rego checked either on the beach or just getting off it.
Surprisingly the DRZ with 17" distanzias was overall the best bike to ride ( we swapped bikes a couple of times ) and was only in the soft powdery sand in getting off the beach at Teewah that stopped me, just had to walk beside the bike in 1st. On the hard sand it was the perfect setup and was capable of doing double the posted speed limit....alegedly...
In the soft sand, it was just a matter of keeping the weight well back and stay on the power.
