Default Callignee

Went for a bit of a pootle around Callignee as I have not done much to the east of the excellent Traralgon-Balook road.

The Callignee hall and fire station. Nearly every building was destroyed in the 2009 fires.

Three 404 parts cars and one runner that was awaiting resto. The silver trails are the result of the aluminium gearbox and live axle melting. The douvrin donk in a 505 also melted. They had 2 fire pumps, heaps of water, sprinklers on the house, 2 people on hoses and 2 people dealing with ember attacks. They saved the house and shed containing the registered cars but I reckon that if they had any idea of what a crown fire burnover was like they would have evacuated.

Pumps road, with a road narrows sign where it is already narrow and gets no narrower.

Turns into a farm track, so back through Callignee, tried Factory road which took me back to the Traralgon-Balook, then tried Neaves road, which took me back to Callignee again.

Callignee-Gormandale road.

Old school garage in Gormandale. The truck is an incredibly rare 4WD OKA manufactured in WA.

That is both really scary and a reality check.
