Chasing Birtie - August 2012

jo

I'm a wimp!
We had the weekend free and since Bernard would be scheduled to be in Corowa we decided to chase him... maybe to make sure he leaves the state properly :bt
I was also testing the new "Olympus TG-1 Tough" designed to be waterproof and shockproof - it handled well.

It was a wet start to the morning but cleared up after Kinglake.

The short section of dirt from Boho wasn't bad

Lunch at Goorambat (wouldn't go there for the decor) - but they do have the tallest steak sandwich :)

We got to Corowa at around 3pm to David and Helen's place.
We met David and Helen on our India Trip http://austouring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1499&highlight=India

It was a lovely afternoon for a walk around town - even Nev was happy

...and finally Birtie turned up... I think he caught us rather than the other way...

The ride back to Melbourne was uneventful apart from kamikaze cockatoos

and lunch at the Giddy Goat

Sounds like one of THOSE places...everything, but everything's, stuck in the '60s?

From gaudy plastic-tulips to green net-curtains to real country tucker. :chug:

Thankfully, there are still a few around..

Haven't heard of Bernard since...guess that's a good sign.
Tks for the pics :so
