Prime stuff, as always

A swim in Lake Dove? Leave that to the eskimos, Jeezaz!

Somebody volunteered us to help with the event set up.

When that got boring I did what everybody does in Tasmania on a spring Saturday afternoon - walked across the road to watch American football

Day 3

and the last rider on the last Tasmanian Peaks Challenge finishes with 2 minutes and 40 seconds to spare immediately in front of the lanterne rouge. The rider had made a 25 km wrong turn so ended up riding an extra 50km and still finished before the cut off time.

Just mouthwatering stuff!!

Can't believe GridIron's come to Tassie, whoohoo! :wot:
And another calendar shot of Cradle-with-a-dusting....beautiful.:glu

Preston Falls...sounds like you've seen some of the NorthCoast backroads, I love that area around Gunns Plains/ Caastra/ Nieta/ Loongana and Dairy Plains in the back of Mole Creek.
Lots of fantastic, narrow and deserted backroads (often sealed) and dead-gorgeous scenery.

Pedalling an extra 50k's and still making the cut-off?
I'd take 2 weeks just to make the "extra" 50k's :eek:

Thanks.
Now the cycling is over we can get on with the motorcycling and around 700 km of dirt roads.

Day 4.
Bicycle event over, chucked out of the accomodation they provided. Time to get serious about the motorcycling.

I can think of worse places to refill the water bottle

Don't tell Bruce that his 1996 K1100 LT isn't an ADV bike. He only has another 650+ of gravel to go during the week.

Way up a gravel road at Poimena. 'nuff said really.

Of course when you are at St Helens and hurrying to walk to the pub before 8pm close for food orders AND you only have your phone you get the best sunset of the trip.

That's Scottsdale every Friday afternoon rush-hour,
or rather make that: that's just Scottsdale

If it wouldn't be for through-traffic and a few tourists, they'd still stop in the main street and gawk at anything that's not a horse or donkey.

Great pics!

Day 5
Ben Lomond day

Early(ish) morning walk around St Helens

The GPS said left, the sign said right. Right involved more dirt roads, we went right

When you are riding with motorcyclists rather than photographers they never even see things like this 200 metres off the road
