Frosty Frolic 13 - Mallacoota

So Sir Francis had to push his Triumph to the petrol station again today!

He ran out of the kind of fuel which burns.

Naw Tim, no pushing for me....I've graduated to being towed...:killingme

Well, now that the sickly cat is out of the bag...looks like my no start Tiger was not a one off incident.

Guess who's off to Mallacoota again next weekend....

Thanks to the Sprint Twins who chauffeured me the 600km home. :cdle

You must've gone on a different ride to me. Saturday was lovely. Some of the roads were wet, from passing showers, but it wasn't a wet day. I think maybe I had to wipe some light rain off my visor once or twice around Marlo.

It was toasty warm in my jacket. I took a little while longer than everyone else at each stop to get moving though, plugging in my old-man's heated gloves, and plugging in my old-man's heated vest.

I sometimes even had to turn the heat down a little.

A pre dawn start for many, it sure was frosty on the way to the departure point.

13 nut cases read for the Frosty… :bs

A cruise down the highway to Traralgon where we created our own rush hour.

A short hop to morning tea at Toongabbie.

I can’t recall how many years I have been riding past this place and never stopped. The food was excellent. Premium petrol is also available.

A determined ride via the usual back roads and it was time for lunch at Bruthen.

No Bullant for us today. We still had hundreds of km to go… :endu

More highway cruising until Orbost. Then a coastal blast from Marlo to Cann River.

At Cann River we caught up with the rain.

ST Jim caught some dodgy fuel or was that diesel he put into the Triumph…

After a false stop (I stopped at the wrong caravan park  ) we made it to our digs.

And shortly there after, the local pub...

We ate some food and drank some…..black beer and a bottle of port toasting Bernie Blackbird. :chug:

I’m not sure if Doug had prepared for a chilly start or if he’d forgotten to remove the costume he’d worn for his cabin buddy the night before…. :bs

It was meant to be another very early start but my Tiger put an end to that plan.

Don’t fret little Tiger, I will come back for you…..maybe…. :bt

With the chants of “hey buddy, yer girlfriend is ugly” etc I climbed onto the back of the Triumph Sprint and began my longest pillion ride. :cdle

By Cann River, we were all impressed with TimC and his weather request to his boss.

We retraced our coastal route to Marlo.

Unfortunately, this photo just does not do justice to the scenery before us.

A late breakfast in Orbost.

Back roads to Bairnsdale and a quick leg stretch look towards Heywood.

The lady at the Toongabbie store was just about run off her feet as we cleared the cabinets of food.

Now I’m not suggesting the Sprint ST was uncomfortable but after 400km I did consider waiting for the bus… :killingme

For those that got to ride the whole distance: almost 1200km for the weekend.
