Frost Frollicking

Hi Everyone,
Last weekend was the Open Road Tourer's annual Frosty Frolic.

Destination. Yakandandah.

Not too many Pics from me because apart from my fingers being frozen, I'd cleverly left the SD card for the camera at home...:looney:

First stop Taggerty Store.

This was a welcome stop as my chin bar on the Shark helmet was locked in the up position. Riding the Spur with an open face Helmet in freezing temp is something different for sure! :woot:

No, not Nepal.... Main Street Yakandandah!

We chuffed off to one of the Pubs in town and had a delightful meal and chatted away until the clock struck 10...:bs

I was the only one out and about when I strolled back to my accom. I stopped to look at the world.

And I wondered how much action this place had seen since 1878

Next morning came around all too quickly really.

But there was coffee.

We set off after a hearty breakfast and rode through some absolutely fantastic scenic country roads.

It was great to be out and about, Mt Bogong in all it's splendour.

Then on to Bright for a Pie and a coffee for lunch.

We left Bright for Moyhu, where more pastries met there fate.

Then back towards Melbourne over the Kinglake range for Sil and myself.

Another memorable weekend away! :chug:

Trip total 950 km for me.

I didn't even realise your chinbar had a down position. I think every ride and every photo I've seen of you with that helmet the chinbar is up.

:D Good to see that quirky shop still open after all those years...Goodie bought some stuff there yonks ago, I think we still had the Beemers then.

Is the furniture shop still there in the old garage on Main Street?

They made some exquisite redgum stuff from solid slabs extracted from old river-redgum along the Murray.
Saw an 18'x 4'6" dining table there with a single-piece 2.5' slab for a top, which needed a crane to be removed from the shop-come-workshop area.
Got a pic floating around somewhere....

Whatever the transport came to...the new owner wouldn't have worried about it after paying 40grand for that table.
Magnificent piece of timber...and done justice to by the one who made it into that table. :glu:glu
