It was soon the next morning and we were up with the sparrows, loaded and set off to our seperate destinations. This incredible ride was drawing to a close, it was just a 230 k slog up the M1 for me, or a detour through some countryside. I opted for the latter.
It wasn't long before I realised that my heated gloves were kaput. There was no other option but to divert to Morwell for a bacon and egg feast while waiting for the sun to get higher in the sky, before continuing my journey.
The rolling green hills of Gippsland were a delight to see.
And the country lanes were a standout as always.
And the familiar Melbourne "Grey Sky" welcome, kinda took the wind out of the sails as I joined the highway at Yarragon and committed myself to the drone back to home.
What a trip, 1776 km in total for me. I got to experience some wonderful places with a great bunch of blokes.
I'd do it again tomorrow if I could get the time off!
