Getting the hang of it
The old Whangamomona road.

road starts to turn to shit, big bog holes, fall off count so far, me at 2 times, think eddie at 3 spills.

That was pretty muddy allright, and it was thick mud.

In this pic the bike is shod with a TKC-80 on the front and a Mitas E-09 on the rear but they may have well been slicks. Check out the mud on top of the caliper also.

Good stuff JMJ. done a ride from uretie,,, not sure somewhere by mt messanger.. on quads... ended up in whanga... went through a couple of tunnells..... we found an old kauri mill .. miles from anywhere..how on earth did they get that lot up there?? great peice of country... :tu

We rode in the rain, frezzeing cold wind, sleet, and snow.

friday morn i set out north to taupo, meet some of the gang at ashurst.

notice the rain covers on, they where there for a reason...
we headed off north through back gravel and seal roads,towards taupo.
a few slips on the roads so care was needed.

was some great view along the way

we arived at the pub on the napier taupo road, aprox 4:30pm friday.
a great meal and beers, bikers chat till late.
we woke to a frosty fine start, and on the road at 8am

through taupo forest roads heading for huiarau range

had to watch out for wild horses,

heading towards the lake waikaremoana, with all the rain made some great water falls.

stop off at the lake, top up fuel tanks, and eat all the pies in the shop..i mean all the pies...

a little further up the road we stoped for one last look over the lake...great place.
