This year the Openroaders were heading to Yarram for their annual November weekender.

Famous Rog n I headed over the hill for a visit.

Mr Fish took the excuse to ride out for morning tea.

Another cracking day in the valley.

Largely dirt from Myrtle to Whitfield. A relaxed run up the bitumen towards Tolmie for Famous Rog and Mr Fish as they were stuck behind a slow moving KLR...:killingme

Tolmie to Jamieson avoiding Mansfield.

Now the original plan was to meet Phil from Melbourne and Fuzzy in Jamieson and ride together to Yarram.

However Fuzzy "just remembered" he had a work commitment and so was a no start for Yarram....he met us on the Tuono for coffee before heading home to "work". Just between us, I think he was intimidated by the thought of riding with two KLRs...:bs

As the bush recovers from the most recent fires, Mt Skene is loosing that other worldly feel of stark white dead trees we've experienced on previous visits.

P1080385-XL.jpg

We cut across towards Aberfeldy using South Road and Mt Selma Road.

And then down here

P1080399-XL.jpg

To lunch next to the river.

P1080401-XL.jpg

After lunch, we climbed into Walhalla and rolled through.

On the bitumen twisties out of Walhalla, we engaged in a full throttle hooligan KLR rampage taking no prisoners at some stage I'm sure we even saw 83kmh!!! I kid you not....:killingme

A side trip to Cowwarr via the dirt and we made Traralgon for fuel.

Now it may be a sign of the approach of end of days (in the apocalypse sense), I was approached by a bearded Harley biker type dude who wanted to chat about KLRs. Turns out his other Harley mates are telling him to buy one to ride around town....dude, KLRs are magnificent pieces of shit.

Churchill Boolara and it's back into it.

The Openroaders were well settled into the Commercial Hotel when we arrived at 5.30pm. As an aside, great little motel older style motel units out back - a bargain at $70 total per twin share room.

A fantastic night catching up with the Openroaders. And then a few of the usual suspects made for the bar. Much fun with the locals.

Lots of rain overnight. Some lingered over breakfast.

P1080415-XL.jpg

We said our good-byes to the Openroaders and made for the hills.

P1080417-XL.jpg

There was one stupid kangaroo on the road who simply bounced and bounced and bounced along the road instead of taking to the bush.

Roger thought it was a scream. He said he was laughing so much at Phil n me trying to get past, nek minut....

aka Faztudo, Dunkin etc
Awesome report dude :clap::clap::clap:

It brings back good memories of the days when I used to ride instead of 'work' on weekends :killingme

Thanks for the photos as well. I miss riding to your neck of the woods bro - some beautiful roads you guys have on your side of the world.

Pfft 83 kph. Not likely.

The KTM is indeed intimidated by the KLRs. They break down even more often and get all the attention.
