Digging deeeep into the old pic-archives....
(scanned from prints)

Nearly 30 years back (March '94)
2 glorious Tassie weeks

Poatina views

Steppes sculptures carpark, then just finished a few weeks earlier.
I never realized how small the FJ12 was standing next to the little GN250....rather looks like one of today's 500/600s

Strathgordon Rd.....when even the locals hardly knew where Strathgordon was.

0051 Salamanca.jpg

Nothing much has changed on that view from Mt. Welly, just the road has been much improved since then.

Crossing Nevada through the High Desert on Route 375, the Extraterrestrial Highway .....Area51, Tonopah Rocket Range.
Aiming for the Eastern Sierras, Yosemite and Lee Vining at the end of a long, looong day.

Start in Utah, near Cedar City https://bit.ly/3S230vV

.... in the far distance.

May 2017, pics taken from Mono Lake Vista Point. https://maps.app.goo.gl/dsf4SKrxkMer9Pa18

It sure is a cracker spot :)

Which way did you go/ come?

That's the servo in Lee Vining the KLR decided on another rear-flat.... https://bit.ly/3O5bMbb

I took the shot from nearly exactly the spot the red car with the hood-up is parked, building behind and the low Besser brick wall still seem to be there.

Man, seeing those el-cheapo softbags on the KLR....I think they came with the bike when Jimbo picked it up in Portland (plus a huge box of other bits+bling) , I burned the floor out of one of them on one of the NZ-rides a year or two later, made it back to Christchurch with a doubled-up piece of beer-carton wrapped in a shopping bag for "waterproofing".
Groat bike that turned out to be....but with a kinky habit of random rear-flats.
Shoved lots of the extras that came with it into the suitcases and took 'em home, helped out a lot with the restoration of Mr. Farkles son's KLR we got stuck with after he decked it, uninsured.

We'd come from Las Vegas via Amargosa Opera House at Death Valley Junction. A local (who you wouldn't want to argue with) said we could not take pics, so pinched this from the web:

Stovepipe Wells:

(Helen wanted this pic as there is one of her dad and brother at the same spot in the early 80's.)

Overnight in Independence:

Bridgeport:

(Man, they loved their courthouses over there, aye!)

Monitor Pass:

And then a few days R&R at Lake Tahoe.

Love that Opera House... and right in the middle of no where.
Yes to the Courthouses....never saw a shabby one.

Sleepy morning above Fully, a tiny, historic hamlet in the vineyard-slopes above Martigny, Southern Switzerland.

An hour later, up the opposite slopes of the Rhone Valley....views back and across into the glaciers of the Diablerets Range.

Turn the head 180... and there's the Mont Blanc Range, the Roof of Europe ~4800m/16.000ft
Legendary views from the tiny gravel pass Col de la Croix de Coeur .

Anyone claiming there are no breathtaking gravel rides in Central Europe.... just don't know s&^t.
This shot is one of Hayesy's, reportedly he lost his heart (and a good few tears) up there when this whole "Tornanti-rides" thing started to hit home in real-time.
Here's to you, buddy...RIP
