Whoohoo...let's backpaddle for a week.
Early Sept. and a few stolen hours around the southern parts of the Yarra Valley. Just a slow tootle, enjoying an afternoon with the sun peeking through.

Late Sept brought along the OpenRoad Tourers ride to the Gisborne Winery and a chance for us to explore a cross-cut through the Outer Northern regions of Melbourne.
Some good sailing to be had... ![]() Can't seem to find the thread...I'm sure there was a write up.

Middle of October sees another OpenRoads Tourer ride, this time an overnighter to Jamieson.
Meet at the pub in the afternoon, if you run late and/ or want to take the dirt. Goodie and I did. Found a few more roads out the back of Mansfield, together with some stunning countryside ![]() Lots of tall stories were told Fine Arts were suitably admired Some sweet roads and solitude was enjoyed ...while the wattles gave all the colour they had. Lots of laughs, great folks, some sweet roads and brilliant weather. Bonza! Lots more pics and tall yarns over here: http://www.austouring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4314

Early Nov. and most likely not the best time for riding NZ....or so they say.
Bollox! 8 absolutely brilliant days proved the North Island a treasure trove of fantastic locals, incredible scenery, brilliant roads and a barrel-load of fun with a first-class crew. Oh man, how good was it?? Go and check out all the pics and stories... http://www.austouring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4334 Tell ya what, some of the locals are a bit strange ![]() Hans came from Vienna/ Austria for this one...Crusty was along, yayyy!!, 2-for-the-price-of-one-Tim's ![]() A bit of an unlikely mob at first glance, but Christ, it all gelled within a few hours, then the laughs came thick'n fast. As did the unbelievable roads and scenery! First stop on the thick gravel of the Klondike Rd near Port Waikato Found some weird tunnels Carved some tar Stood speechless, gawking into the distance.... Had a bit of a Holy Touch Wanna check out the rest of the ~600 pics? Click here ![]() http://www.austouring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4334

Richard (K1W1) had called for a Saturday lunch at the Woori Yallock Pub early December....and they came from far and wide.
What a good way "to lube the seals" of Birtles, the postie-of-outback-fame, keeping the battery charged while awaiting its next big cruise in April '13. Grabbing dessert on the way home.
