Default Birtles vs Tasmania

.

Shadows lengthen.
Birtles is afraid.
There is no escape, the gates are locked.

A nice, soothing cup of tea in a quiet back street helps …

… as does a slice of gingerbread …

… before heading back to the ferry terminal to wait, behind some heavy metal.
“1700cc, 73hp and 834lb of pure luxury” the Vulcan owner says, boastfully.
“105cc, 7hp and 220lb of pure enjoyment” I reply, factually.

Sea travel is not Birtles’ thing, but he may yet be spared - looks like they’ve broken the boat.

I break out the Elastoplast and then, even before the Sea-Legs and the sleeping pills have worn off, there we are, just like that, in Tasmania,
downing another soothing cuppa at the only café on the island open at a misty 0700 hrs.
