Default The Bruthen brewery trip photo ops you didn't see

Terrific ride lots of fun but I'm still waiting for the dirt sections.
These are all after I left the group at Lake Glenmaggie.

The Glenmaggie Tree
(Google the Wanaka Tree and you will see what I'm getting at)

I don't know who Old Joe is but I would love to thank him for building such a nice gravel road (and thanks for the tip Glitch)

I stopped at the lookout above Tyers to check the view and who should go past but Apehanger Man and twenty of his hairiest smelliest mates. The embarrassing part was that there was a guy on a Triumph Explorer amongst them.

W2 track up on the ridge towards Rawson. Marked as a lookout but 2km down the road there is just a parking area and a picnic table (nice shady spot for lunch or a break though)

There had to be a Thompson Dam photo

Explains why I have never seen a GS on the South Face Road I guess.

By the time I got to the bridge my legs needed some exercise.

477km for the day got home at 7.

mmmmyumyum!!
Certainly took the long way home, aye?
Love the shot of Old Joe...and come to think of it, never done it E->W myself...this is nice!

Flunked a new shortcut to a shortcut to bypass Bairnsdale as we just made it on the juice in the tank and Briagolong/ Boisdale? was shut off by the cops for some reason (event/ accident??) on Satdee.

I'll post a map once I know where we went.
As Nev had promised, the Cowwarr Rd. was good, only a few potholes here and there...but copped a few denture-busters on the Grand Ridge Rd. today.

There were a couple on the Tanjil Bren - Vespers part of the way back as well. Mainly the join between where road repairs were starting and the seal.

I very nearly increased the dead wildlife count on the way up to Tanjil Bren between the two hairpins. Came within 6 inches or so of clobbering a female Lyrebird who jumped off the bank right in front of me. ABS works!

Lake Glenmaggie.

Bruthen coffee stop. AM Sunday.

I never know where we are... so here's a pic of that!

The little moto compressor doing it's thing

Gippsland is Touring Paradise, with long flowing back country roads, many dirt road connectors and it's quite scenic in parts too.

What a great weekend.

Bloody hell, Jo and the RACV truck nearly beat me home. Total care, it's a must have!

Thanks to all for a fantastic time !

Oh, is it ever!!
That Stradbroke-Gormandale Rd. was a new one for me, as was the Scales Rd. through the pine-plantations and the Calignee area.
Some sweet, mixed d/s riding there !!

Never did that School Rd. where Jo got the flat, either....what a neat, little cut-through from Boolara to Thorpdale

On a clear day, those views from Mt. Tassie should be stumping, right across South Gippy to the Prom!
Agreed, great weekend
