Good move!

I'm planning for Day 2 and Day 3 to be a little more interesting.

Day 2, a long way from Binalong to Mudgee:

Pub booked, short walk to brewery, life's good.

Day 3, Mudgee to Armidale via some unfinished business - Dangars Falls:

Pub booked, short walk to bar, life's real good.

Day 4 is to be even more interesting. Armidale to Woodenbong:

Some local (OzSTOC member from Guyra) advice is that there is some unfriendly gravel road from between Tenterfield and Legume. I reckon we'll get some further advice from some Tenterfield locals before we tackle that road, or find an alternative.

Either way, the pub at Woodenbong is booked, life is ........

The link discusses the upgrade of 11.3km of the road completed in 2016. I've ridden that section this twice now - the first in 2013; the second in 2015, when we went a separate ways, a couple of days after Hayseys' last ride. The 2015 ride was better than 2013, some of the upgrade had been completed.

The section I have bad reports about is this: https://goo.gl/maps/3sW9HyopAjt

There's a couple of bits in that section (probably only 5km and 10km) that I've had a recommendation to avoid. But hey, 5km and 10km, I think we'll give it a crack.

Around 13km after Legume there's a turn-off from where we follow Toolum Road, then after around 28km there's Urbenville. Toolum Road is one of the sweetest, single lane, sealed, tree covered (through tunnels of foliage in parts) roads I've ridden in these parts, from memory better than Lions Road and Spring Creek Road.

Here it is: https://goo.gl/maps/DaPxXhjCxJq

Methinks some pics will be in order.

Ok...didn't know there was another piece of dirt in that stretch.

Agree with the Toolum Rd....nice continuation of the Paddys Flat Rd. coming from Tabulam (which is dirt, ~70k's)
