Sadies for the win when in Smithton.

The skies had that its all over look about them.



The coast was very pleasant indeed.
















I quite liked Devonport, cracking beaches 2 mins from town.


Tomorrow eve we'll be sailing out there. Time to reflect on a cracking trip and start thinking about Melbourne Traffic.

Tuesday 28 April

I had a bit of time to kill between the Three Amigos departing and Helen arriving. What to do? Go for a ride.

But first, good bye Old Friend.

Second, stop at the bakery, chat to a local whilst having a coffee and a pie, or two - party pies, just the right size. Local asks if I've been to The Gardens, I hadn't, so thats my destination. I leave some gear at Phil's place (about 5km north, just off the Binalong Bay Road), and travel light.

Plenty of time, so a slow tootle, smell the roses. The Gardens was high and windy, but provided great views.

Return to Phil's via Binalong Bay.

The final day dawned wet and cold. A final soaking for my boots before the ferry. And it was only a 5 min run into Devonport.

Good quality waterproof kit is invaluable. Time for some non leak boots though



Breakfast in what is possibly the busiest Cafe in Tassie. Good feed. Exxy! But it was warm and dry.....bonus!!




We had a reasonably long wait before boarding and a ride wasn't appealing in the conditions.

Strap em down, head for a shower and then the bar.


And just like that it was over.

I had a 4 hr slog up the freeway the next morning.

Which turned out to be almost uneventfull as I dropped the XT at a servo in Euroa.

Such is life.

Was a great trip, thanks to all for the camaraderie and the laughs. Id go again in a heartbeat!!

Actually....before it started bucketing (and some were still tucked in up to over their ears, dreaming of dry feet and boots that don't leak) it didn't look too bad out there.
It did turn to shyte in a hurry though....

Awesome pics all the way around.
Shows it IS worth breaking the ride to get off the bike and look around, take some pics, bring home memories that can be called up any time.
Yes, a big thanks to everyone!!
We had some great times regardless of weather and constant plan-changes, the bikes held up well and luck played our way lots of times.

OMG, this thread is running fast! Just two days not in the net and I'm already way behind you guys.

I'm at home again everything is fine. Late Sunday evening an inflamed appendix appeared without advance notice and my wife had to drive me to the hospital. 3 hrs later I was without the rotten appendix.

After Waratah in the sun I mede it to a hotel in Somerset.
Next morning breakfast at Bruce's Cafe at the coast line west of Wynyard that Avocado pancake plate filled me up for some hours.



Then to Wynyard Harbour.



Table Cape where the tulips grow. Pete and Doug were here the next day, I believe.



All wonderful places.

I know @glitch is handy with a swiss army knife but this one I think is out of his fixing
