The early sun punching through the Mirboo fog

A short stroll around the place reveals a bit of a "hoarders paradise"...

before meeting up with Marty in Thorpdale, the small bakery/ shop happy to sell us some lunch-rolls to take away.

Ten Mile Creek Rd., the pine plantations around Darlimurla and Boolarra, the Morwell River Rd., Grand Ridge and Albert River, followed by a climb up the Whitelaws Track to Tarra Bulga National Park and Mount Tassie for a speccy lunch spot

Albert River Rd. towards Minnehaha Falls

Whitelaws Track, the western gravel parallel to the better known Tarra Valley Road

A personal memorial site at the northern face of Mount Tassie....RIP, mate, who ever you were... you sure picked a glorious spot to roam free.
A kindred soul. It somehow feels right to spend some time and have lunch here....

Some re-rigging of the afternoon route was needed after some post-lunch cock-ups around the forestry & plantations country around Calignee.
Some interesting riding though...

"You take the left, I'll take the right...and we gonna nail this sucker"

Made it into Bruthen via some narrow, little asphalt farm roads and single lane bridges across the Mitchell River to bypass Bairnsdale for a burning sunset in Bruthen

Perfect end to a perfect day....spreading the Tall Yarns on the covered pergola, Avon River to one side, the old railway line on the other, native gardens in the middle....
and the pub pumping out the "Bruthen Got Talent" night across the valley.
