Nice campsite at the rec reserve, bit boggy in the middle, but around the outside was fine.

Talk about travelling light. His only form of transport, apart from a pushie.

Best sidecar award at the rally.

Good weekend, nice weather after Castlemaine. Fitted a Remus muffler before the ride, seemed to run a bit better, definitely sounds better. All good. Cheers Ian.

I like those silver barfridges you have strapped either side of the bike there Squizzy
That sidecar is a 18ft Jayco Caravan @Squizzy! Must be a bitch to ride with.
It is very nice to ride, set up well, sits on 100/110 without an issue. And yes Ant, they have been used as eskys. Now carry one in the tub.

Had to gmap for Tarnagulla....and a few other names while at it.
Looks like that early drizzle turned into another fine weekend then (going by the pics).
Seems like the trip was worth it for that choice bunch of bikes and rigs alone....beaut stuff.

Mt Tarrangower...is that the one in a smallish park or reserve just south/ south-east? of Bendigo?
I've had that on the radar for ages....

It is just on the out skirts of Maldon. Nice free camping area at the bottom of the road leading up. They have run hill climb competitions there in the past, not sure if still going. Nice spot.

Thanks for posting Squizzy.

Did the Golden Dragon Rally at Tarnagulla a couple of times around 2013 & 2014. The Bendigo Ulysses group were good hosts as were the local Lions or Apex who would do the catering. Then the biggest bonfire I can recall and the loudest band. Yes a very enjoyable and memorable couple of nights.

Judging by some of the now tarnished and worn-out township buildings and infrastructure, Tarnagulla would once have been a grand and proud town, I remember a lots of churches, and a pub with a Public Bar the would old about six people.

We had a lunch at the pub, the menu listed fish fingers & chips, sausages & chips and chops & chips. I asked what sort chops, and received a response of meat. Salt-o-the earth country folk, but in some ways simple.

I'm surprised that there was a turnout at the Tarnagulla recreation reserve. The Central Vic Ulysses group website had next to no information about the rally this year on it (the whole website is bare of any real info on anything) but it said that the rally was moving to private property somewhere nearby and that it would be a back to basics rally. As it turned out Jo and I had other things to occupy us in Melbourne last weekend so we didn't end up going anywhere.
