One cracker of a different motorcycle - destination for sure, thanks to Vic @VB1971 !!

First up a big thanks for organizing it all, making the contact with Chris Hurren from MotoCap before drumming up the troops for a very educational and enjoyable 2hrs. that easily extended to the carpark afterwards.
It pretty much looked that nobody was in a hurry to leave at all....which speaks bounds considering hardly anyone knew eachother before.

For expecting a coke-bottled, gibberish and math- dribbling, white-coated Einstein, Chris, MotoCap's Top Lab-Rat turned out an ABSOLUTE gem, funny, an endlessly deep barrel of knowledge, brains and facts, a real-world seasoned rider and a helluva nice guy on top of all that...then add the Einstein and a big dollop of passion.
Nobody lesser would spend a Saturday morning of his own time to show a small group of riders the innards of the MotoCap Lab, testing methods and equipment, talk real-world scenarios and materials, the politics and business stuff surrounding it all.... and much more.

THANKS, Chris!! :smilie-wave:

Hey Guys

Pete. I couldn’t have put it better myself. What a great day, what great guys and it never ceases to amaze me how the humble motorcycle can bring together such a nice group of people. I am sure Michael and George are now new ST buddies 😀

And What a champion Chris was. His passion definitely came through.

Hope you all had a nice lunch. I took advantage of the time I had to ride and clocked up a leisurely 350 km with a pop into Mt Macedon along the way for some twisties. How straight is that road from Geelong to Bacchus Marsh!!!! Thank god for the throttle lock

Hope to catch up again soon
Cheers
Vic

Ka-ching! :icon-clap-:

Little River Pub turned out a real Country Pub type of place....dusty gravel carpark, cold beer, HUGE meals, loads of Fourbe's and the odd guy on horse+buggy
They also seem to offer an overnight paddock for ~a dozen campers/caravans at the back, maybe for those needing a quiet spot before/ after the Tassie ferry crossings.

Oh....Elvis The Pelvis will be around next Saturday night, stage's set! :)

Let's shred those new $200 jeans, yah?
Explaining and showing the different Kevlar fabrics used in today's "Rider-jeans".
Ohhh SHIIT, some of them you wouldn't want to wear pushing a wheelbarrow, never mind riding a motorcycle @ 100km/h

P1090049.JPG

...and the testing-rig only runs at 28km/h!!

Another second or 2 of surfing the road and you'll be wearing your arse on your knee or shoulder for the rest of your days.
Kevlar ain't Kevlar!
And the good stuff beats LEATHER, numbers don't lie.

More testing,...heat, humidity...sewing yarn deterioration....burst test....it's quite a list!

Maybe the MotoCap website is worth checking out before forking out BIG-$$ for flashy name brands and kit....
I know I will.
